Markus Egli, PhD (Chemistry)

A Swiss with a second home in the USA I have lifelong experience in science and innovation management.

The work in these areas tought me that, yes, we try to mold the future according to our ideas. But in the end it is still the real world and not our opinion about it which decides about success and failure.

Understanding this made me appreciate the great heritage the enlightenment left us with science, individual freedom & responsibility and equal rights. It enabled us to achieve the tremendous successes which allow us to live the most comfortable lives in history.

With major concern I see that arguing with the imperfections of our achievements there is a trend toward destroying the very foundations of our western culture. This blog is my, although minor, contribution to the discussion about this development.
